Davis Langdon successfully contributed to the recent SB08 Conference in Melbourne. Whilst being a program sponsor we contributed three speakers plus various exemplar project information panels - drawn from around the DL world.
John Connoughton (DL London) spoke on methods of calculating embedded carbon in new buildings and Jeff Rios (DL New York) spoke on case studies on embedded carbon in projects.
Leon Gardiner (DL Australia) presented a paper outlining the case for triple bottom line accounting of green expectations upon existing buildings. His paper, compiled with significant input from Peter James (DL Brisbane office), was titled:
THE INTERPLAY BETWEEN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPACTS OF GREEN BUILDINGS
It is about the evaluation of the economic and social impact of green buildings on existing buildings.
