The building incorporates four Linear accelerator Bunkers, Radiation Oncology, Cancer Administration and Clinical Trials, Research floors and the provision of Acute and Palliative Care wards.

Through our Cost Managers, we have been involved with the project from concept stage and have managed the budget through the various stages as the design has evolved. With construction and design occurring in tandem for the different project stages we have balanced the competing project needs to maintain programme and budget within the defined parameters.
We have assisted the multi-stakeholder clients by providing extended cost and budget reporting recognising both the clients need to monitor ongoing fundraising achievements as well as mitigation strategies related to progressive funding.
Building Surveying, with the collaboration of services consultants and designers is providing Building Regulatory advice throughout the duration of building design / development and is setting out parameters to ensure Building Code of Australia and Victorian Building Regulations are met. Discussions between the representative of the Austin Health and local government authority (Minister of Health) ensured that the development fell within the guidelines set by local government.
Our Specification Consulting is working closely with the joint venture architects, Daryl Jackson Pty Ltd and McConnell Smith Johnson and has become an integral part of the documentation team to produce a project specification that relates closely with and compliments the architectural drawings and schedules. Our specification clearly defines the contractor’s responsibilities and deliverables as well as describing the architect’s / client’s expectations with respect to the levels of quality of construction and finishes that are to be achieved.
Access Consulting is ensuring that the centre adheres to the technical requirements as set out by Building Codes and Legislation under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) in Australia, and more importantly that Universal Design Principles are applied in a holistic manner. A Safety and Risk Service, Safety in Design, is ensuring that the centre reflects the legislative requirement set out under the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, technical requirements as set out by Building Codes and that the end users of this facility (staff, patients and visitors) will be exposed to less risk during their normal course of duties.
